RIP: Former Governor Mike Sonko Mourns Major Fidel Agai In Emotional Tribute

Former Governor Mike Sonko has joined Kenyans in mourning Major Fidel Agai, a dedicated National Police Service officer whose sudden death has left family members, friends and colleagues grieving.

In a message shared on Saturday, October 24, Sonko expressed shock and sadness following news of Agai’s passing, describing him as a committed officer who devoted his career to public service.

The former governor also highlighted Agai’s professional journey within the police service, recalling his time as the Officer Commanding Station (OCS) at Buruburu Police Station in Nairobi.

Agai later served at the National Police Leadership Academy, where he contributed to training and leadership development within the service.

Sonko said the country had lost an officer who played an important role in his areas of responsibility, extending his condolences to the deceased’s family, friends, colleagues and the wider police fraternity.

“May the Almighty God comfort his family and grant them strength to bear this painful loss,” Sonko said in his tribute.

His message reflected the grief surrounding the officer’s death, with the former governor calling for strength and comfort for those struggling to come to terms with the loss.

Sonko concluded his message with a solemn farewell, praying for Agai to rest in eternal peace.

Although the announcement focused on mourning the officer, it did not provide details about the circumstances surrounding his death.

Agai’s service at Buruburu Police Station and the National Police Leadership Academy formed part of his contribution to policing and the development of officers.

As condolences continue to be expressed, his family and colleagues face the difficult task of coming to terms with his sudden departure.
