Former Radio &TV Presenter Reveals Younger Men Flood Her Social Media Inbox With Romantic Messages

Veteran Kenyan broadcaster Joyce Gituro has opened up about her love life, revealing that she frequently receives romantic messages from much younger men on social media.

The 54-year-old media personality shared the details during a candid interview on Ofweneke’s show, where she discussed relationships, companionship and the attention she receives from admirers online.

During the conversation, Gituro was asked whether she had given up on finding love now that her children were grown and had left home. She made it clear that she had not closed the door on romance, although she suggested that companionship would be more important to her than a conventional relationship.

Gituro also joked that marriage might require some adjustment because she had become accustomed to living independently. She humorously suggested that she could even forget she had a husband because of how comfortable she was with her current lifestyle.

When Ofweneke asked whether she missed being pampered, the broadcaster admitted that she did. However, she questioned whether Kenyan men were genuinely prepared to give women the special treatment popularly described as “baby girl treatment.”

The discussion took a humorous turn when the presenter asked about the last time someone had called her “babe.”

Gituro explained that such messages frequently appear in her social media inbox, often sent by men she has never met. According to her, many of the admirers belong to Generation Z, and their confidence in approaching her online sometimes leaves her amused.

She recalled telling some of the younger men that they lacked manners, only for them to respond playfully that she should ignore their manners.

Her remarks sparked mixed reactions among social media users. While some responded with humorous comments about relationships and age differences, others questioned the intentions of the younger admirers.

The discussion has once again highlighted changing attitudes towards dating, age differences and companionship among older adults in the digital age.
