Ruto to Visit 3 Ukambani Counties as Details Emerge on Roads and Other Projects
President William Ruto is set to tour Machakos, Makueni and Kitui counties beginning Saturday, October 24, in a major development visit expected to focus on roads, water, electricity and housing projects.
The visit will run through Monday, October 26, bringing the Head of State to several constituencies across the Ukambani region. According to reports, the President will inspect ongoing projects, launch new ones and commission completed developments.
Ruto will begin his tour in Mbiuni, Mwala Constituency, Machakos County, where he is expected to inspect a sports academy under construction and commission the Mwala Cluster Water Projects.
He will then proceed to Mbooni in Makueni County, where he is scheduled to launch the Wote-Kako-Ngoluni Road. The project is expected to improve transport and make it easier for farmers and traders to reach markets.
The President is also expected to issue title deeds to residents of Ilima, addressing long-standing land ownership concerns in the area.
In Kaiti Constituency, Makueni County, Ruto will launch the Kyambeke-Kyuasini-Ukia Road and commission the Kyambeke-Kikoko Road.
The programme will continue in Kitui County, where the President is expected to launch additional road projects and oversee initiatives aimed at improving electricity access and public services.
On Sunday, October 25, he is scheduled to visit Kitui town for the groundbreaking ceremony of the Kenya Medical Training College campus and inspect the Kwa Ngendu Affordable Housing Project.
The tour will also include electricity connectivity programmes intended to improve power supply for households, businesses and public institutions.
For residents, the visit presents an opportunity to raise concerns about roads, water shortages, employment and access to essential services.
The development tour comes as political leaders continue to prepare for the 2027 General Election. However, the key issue for residents will be whether the announced projects are completed and deliver lasting benefits to local communities.
Which project would you like President Ruto to prioritise during his Ukambani tour: roads, water, housing or electricity?
