Laughter as Gideon Moi Responds to Accusations of Using Standard to Blackmail Ruto

Gideon Moi caused laughter today at Kabarak after responding to accusations of using Standard Media Group to try and Blackmail President Ruto and his Government.

Speaking during a meeting at his Kabarak Farm, Gideon Moi drew his attention to the accusations from President Ruto and his allies that he has been using Standard Media Group to wage a coordinated extortionist propaganda campaign against Ruto’s administration. The KANU boss dismissed the claims and revealed that the accusations left him wondering whether he is a journalist.

“Ooh Gideon is Standard, they are saying Gideon is Standard, This Standard is Gideon. So I said have you ever seen me as a Journalist (laughter), ati usiku naenda kuandika” Gideon Moi said amid laughter.

This follows accusations including from President Ruto who in the past claimed that Gideon Moi directed the media outlet that is associated with the Moi Family to publish negative headlines in an attempt to Blackmail government into fulfilling his personal demands.

However, Gideon Moi has stated that Standard Media Group has a number of shareholders and neither is a journalist working at the Media Outlet. Hence, he said that he should not be blamed for the Standard Media Group Headlines that sharply criticize the current regime.
