If Election Were To Be Done Today, This Will Be The Leading Presidential Candidate, Poll Reveals

Presidential race is heating up between the sitting president William Ruto and Nairobi senator Kalonzo Musyoka ahead of the general election in August next year. The latest poll released has now showed the gap between these two main contenders narrowing with no candidate crossing the 50 plus percentage of the votes.

The survey done by the Research 8020 has showed that President Ruto remains the leading candidate for the presidential seat with 26% of the opinion votes followed closely by The Equitable Party (TEP) leader Edwin Sifuna who claims 25% of the total votes. The gap just being 1% between the two leaders. The difference between the two has greatly reduced as a result of Sifuna coming up with his party and also the high cost of living leaving citizens demanding for new leadership.

Kalonzo Musyoka comes third with 11% of the votes while Jubilee leader Fred Matiang’i claiming the fourth position getting 9% of the votes while Rigathi Gachagua favoured with 7% votes. With this trend, Sifuna could outsmart President Ruto in the race.
