“Bring Back Mosiria or Lose Your Seat in 2027”: Peter Salasya Fires Warning at Sakaja
Mumias East MP Peter Salasya has issued a stern warning to Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja urging him to bring back Chief Officer Geoffrey Mosiria or risk losing his seat in the 2027 gubernatorial election.
In a statement dated October 23, 2026 Salasya warned Sakaja that his political future could be in danger if he failed to reconsider Mosiria’s position. The outspoken legislator stressed that the matter was serious and urged the governor to take his message seriously.
Salasya’s remarks have brought fresh attention to the situation surrounding Mosiria and the leadership of Nairobi County. By linking the issue to the upcoming election the MP has made it clear that he believes the decision could carry political consequences for Sakaja.
The warning comes as politicians begin preparing for the 2027 General Election with Nairobi expected to attract intense political competition. Leaders are increasingly facing public scrutiny over their decisions performance and relationships with other political figures.
However it remains unclear whether Sakaja will respond to Salasya’s demand or take steps to address the concerns raised. The statement also does not explain the full circumstances behind the call to bring Mosiria back.
For now Salasya’s message has added a new twist to Nairobi’s political conversation putting the governor under renewed public attention as the race towards next year’s election gathers momentum.
