Prof Ndetei Praises Daughter in Court, Reveals the One Thing That Still Troubles Him About Her

Professor David Ndetei has spoken highly of his daughter while appearing in court, describing her as one of Kenya’s top teachers while admitting that an unresolved issue concerning her continues to trouble him.

Ndetei made the remarks during proceedings in the murder case involving Dr Victoria Mutiso.

His comments attracted attention as he discussed his relationship with his daughter amid the ongoing legal battle. The psychiatrist told the court that he had no disagreement with his daughter and praised her professional achievements.

He claimed that she was among the country’s finest teachers and had attained the second position nationally.

Despite his positive remarks, Ndetei disclosed that something concerning his daughter continued to weigh on his mind. However, the available report did not specify the matter that was troubling him.

His statement came as he responded to questions from the prosecution regarding an affidavit he had submitted to oppose the release of Rose Mbithe and her children on bail.

Mbithe’s defence lawyers had disputed the document, alleging that it was forged. They also questioned Ndetei’s mental capacity and health at the time he prepared the affidavit.

However, while answering questions in court, Ndetei maintained that the document was genuine and affirmed that the statements contained in it were his own.He also explained his concerns about his personal safety and the security of his family should the accused persons be released. According to his testimony, they were familiar with his relatives, residence, workplace and close associates.

The psychiatrist further expressed fears that potential witnesses could face intimidation, bribery or other attempts to interfere with their testimony if the accused persons were granted bail.

Ndetei also alleged that Mbithe had threatened to deprive him and his family of everything they owned, claiming that the alleged threats contributed to his concerns.

The case revolves around the death of Dr Victoria Mutiso, with the court yet to make a decision on the accused persons’ bail application.

As the hearing continues, the court will consider the arguments presented by both sides before determining whether the accused persons should be released on bail.
