Ghana’s entertainment industry has been thrown into mourning following reports of the death of veteran actor and media personality Seth Kwame Dzokoto.

GHOne TV, a subsidiary of the EIB Network, announced the news in a breaking news alert on Thursday, October 22, 2026. The announcement has attracted attention among fans and followers of the veteran entertainer, who is widely recognised for his contributions to Ghanaian television and broadcasting.

Dzokoto is best known for his role as Judge Koboo in the popular Ghanaian television series Efiewura, which earned him recognition among audiences across the country. He also hosted Edziban, a television programme that showcased Ghanaian food joints, local cuisine and the country’s rich culinary culture.

Beyond acting, Dzokoto built a career in radio and television, establishing himself as a familiar figure in Ghana’s media landscape. His work across different areas of entertainment demonstrated his versatility and commitment to the creative industry.

The veteran entertainer also ventured into politics, contesting the Tarkwa-Nsuaem parliamentary seat in the 2016 general elections on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC). Although he did not win the election, his participation reflected his interest in public service beyond entertainment.

News of his reported death comes weeks after public concern about his health following reports that he had been dealing with health challenges. In September 2026, Dzokoto reportedly addressed rumours surrounding his condition, reassuring the public that he was alive and recovering.

The latest announcement has renewed public interest in his health and personal circumstances. However, details surrounding his reported death, including the cause and circumstances, have not been fully established in the information currently available.

Dzokoto’s contribution to Ghanaian entertainment, particularly through his memorable television performances, has made him a recognisable personality among viewers.
