Trans Nzoia – A communications officer attached to Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya's office was arrested by Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) officers in Kitale town on Thursday, October 22.
Natembeya's team identified the officer as Amos Boaz Masika, commonly known by the alias Hammer Hammer, and stated that he was picked up at gunpoint by DCI detectives.
The governor's camp reacted swiftly to the development, framing the arrest as a deliberate attempt to destabilise Natembeya's administration ahead of the 2027 General Election.

As of the time of reporting, the Kenya Police Service had not issued any official communication confirming or providing details of Masika's arrest.
The circumstances leading to his detention and the specific grounds on which DCI officers acted, remained unclear.
The alleged arrest comes amid fallout between Natembeya and President William Ruto.
