Full List Of Leaders Sifuna is Ready To Work With To Remove Ruto From Power In 2027

Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna has indicated that he is prepared to cooperate with former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and other political leaders to challenge President William Ruto in the 2027 General Election.

His remarks have renewed debate about the possibility of opposition leaders putting aside their differences to develop a common strategy ahead of the next presidential contest.

“I will work with GACHAGUA and any other person to deliver this Country from RUTO,” Sifuna stated.

The declaration signals his openness to working with leaders who share his political objective. However, it does not confirm that negotiations have begun or that a formal coalition agreement has been reached.

Gachagua, who was removed from office as Deputy President in October 2024 following an impeachment process, has since emerged as a prominent critic of the Kenya Kwanza administration. He leads the Democracy for the Citizens Party (DCP), which is working to strengthen its grassroots support ahead of the 2027 elections.

Sifuna has also been pursuing a separate political path following his fallout with the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM). According to the information provided, he was unveiled as the leader and presidential candidate of The Equitable Party on October 4, 2026.

Other opposition figures whose names have featured in discussions about potential cooperation include Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka, former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang’i and Narc Kenya leader Martha Karua.

Nevertheless, Sifuna has not provided a comprehensive list of leaders he intends to work with, beyond expressing his willingness to cooperate with Gachagua and others.

Any prospective alliance would need to settle important questions, including who would seek the presidency, how political responsibilities would be shared and which policies the coalition would prioritise.

As political activity intensifies ahead of the 2027 General Election, Sifuna’s statement adds to growing discussions about opposition unity and the possibility of mounting a coordinated challenge to Ruto’s re-election bid.
