Report: PSG superstar’s true feelings towards Barcelona

According to a report by Barca Universal on Tuesday October 20, 2026, Paris Saint-Germain forward Ousmane Dembélé reportedly continues to hold positive feelings towards Barcelona despite his controversial departure from the Catalan club.

According to reports, the French international looks back on his six-year spell at Barcelona with affection as he prepares to face his former team in the UEFA Champions League.

Dembélé joined Barcelona from Borussia Dortmund in 2017 for a reported €105 million plus add-ons following Neymar’s departure to PSG.

However, his time at the Camp Nou was marked by injuries, inconsistent performances and difficulties adapting to the expectations that came with his expensive transfer.

The winger gradually improved under former Barcelona manager Xavi Hernández, who appreciated his qualities and helped him become a more influential player in the team’s attack.

Despite making progress, Dembélé eventually left Barcelona after PSG activated his €50 million release clause, bringing an end to his spell with the Spanish giants.

His departure was not entirely smooth, with tensions reportedly emerging during the final months of his Barcelona career.

Nevertheless, According to reports, Dembélé has retained fond memories of his time at the club and remains close to several of his former teammates.

The 28-year-old reportedly considers Barcelona midfielder Gavi a brother and continues to maintain regular contact with Pedri and Frenkie de Jong.

Dembélé was also well liked within the Barcelona dressing room, despite being a naturally reserved individual. His relationships with his former teammates appear to have survived his departure from the club.

However, the Frenchman is expected to put sentiment aside when Barcelona face PSG. Having established himself in Paris under manager Luis Enrique, Dembélé will be focused on helping the French side secure an important Champions League result.

Barcelona supporters will undoubtedly pay close attention to his performance when he comes up against his former club, particularly given the circumstances surrounding his exit.

During his six seasons in Catalonia, Dembélé experienced both criticism and appreciation from the supporters. His performances eventually helped him win over sections of the fanbase after a difficult start to his Barcelona career.
