Worst part of the game’ – Luis Enrique left disappointed as Dembele headline triple PSG injury blow

Per a GOAL report published on Wednesday, October 21, 2026, Paris Saint-Germain coach Luis Enrique voiced his frustration after Ousmane Dembele, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Marquinhos each picked up injuries in their Champions League match against Barcelona.

PSG claimed an impressive 4-2 win over Barcelona, yet the result was clouded by worries about the condition of three important players, leaving Enrique concerned about how this might affect his team.

Dembele was the first to be taken off, having seemingly sustained a left-thigh injury in the 19th minute. The French forward made way for Ferran Torres, and Kvaratskhelia and captain Marquinhos also needed medical treatment during a tough stretch for the away side.

Kvaratskhelia’s injury looked especially worrying after the Georgian winger fell awkwardly upon landing from an aerial duel. He required help from the medical staff to come off the pitch, though the full severity of his injury is still to be determined. Suggestions of a potentially serious knee injury have not been verified and await further medical tests.

In his post-match comments, Enrique made clear that the injuries had somewhat dulled the satisfaction of PSG’s win.

“I am not the doctor. I am the coach,” he said, before calling the three injuries “the worst part of the game today”.

The Spanish coach added that additional assessments were expected to shed more light on the players’ conditions.

PSG will be hoping the injuries are not severe as they get ready for their Ligue 1 fixture against Lyon on October 25. Being without Dembele, Kvaratskhelia or Marquinhos for a long stretch would be a major blow, especially with the club aiming to keep its momentum going in both domestic and European competitions.
