Nigerian doctors react after TVC reporter berated healthcare workers over singer Toluwanising’s demise
Nigerian doctors have reacted after a TVC reporter berated healthcare workers for being on strike on the day late gospel artiste, Toluwanisings, slumped and needed medical attention.
Recall that on Wednesday, October 14, the late gospel singer slumped in his home in Ibadan and was rushed to several hospitals but was turned back because the doctors were on strike.
While his demise shocked so many, it sparked the debate on the poor healthcare system in Nigeria. The doctors were on strike demanding better pay and working conditions.
Reacting to the singer’s sudden demise, the TVC reporter, Riyah Abdul, argued that doctors took an oath to save lives and should stick to upholding this oath at all times. She said being a medical professional isn’t only about making money but mostly about saving lives.
She wondered how the striking doctors would feel knowing that the late singer died because they were on strike and were unable to attend to him.
However, some doctors have slammed her for her stance.

The Tinubu led administration failed him, not the doctors. And I learned that he was an APC loyalist. Almost all doctors in 9ja wants to travel out because of the terrible working conditions and wage here (me self wan japa), but the clueless government whom they support are receiving healthcare outside Nigeria.

Doctors are like every other human, they have needs, they have families. How do doctors take care of themselves and families if they are over worked, underpaid or in some cases not paid at all for many months. Imagine you are working for your employer and you are not paid, what will you do? The problem is not the doctors, the problem is the people collecting your taxes, milking the country dry and not doing the needful, the problem is the government, starting from LG to FG

2 likes 1 dislikes Reply A TVC have lost every ground of credibility in Nigerian journalism space ever since BAT came into power, during Buhari’s time they where very good and fair in thier reporting and being transparent in the profession but ever since tinubu came into power they have been consistent in entertaining every form of biased one sided outlook to issues especially as it concerns tinubu’s government,it’s really very disturbing to me that a tvc program I held in high regard which is “journalist hangout” is now just an extension of tinubu’s spokesmen team,it’s really pathetic
