Defence CS Soipan Tuya Inspects Recruits Training School In Eldoret

Defence Cabinet Secretary Soipan Tuya on Monday afternoon visited the Defence Forces Recruits Training School (DFRTS) in Eldoret, Uasin Gishu County, as the government continues to focus on strengthening military training and improving operational readiness.

Tuya was accompanied by Kenya Army Commander Lieutenant General David Ketter and Assistant Chief of the Defence Forces in charge of Personnel and Logistics, Major General Limo, during the tour of the military training institution.

The visit provided an opportunity for the Defence CS to engage with the institution responsible for preparing recruits for service in the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF).

In a statement following the visit, Tuya reaffirmed the government’s commitment to investing in military training institutions to ensure they maintain high standards and effectively prepare personnel for the responsibilities ahead.

She noted that strengthening training facilities remains an important part of efforts to enhance the operational readiness of the country’s defence forces.

The government’s focus on military training is aimed at ensuring recruits receive the preparation required to serve with discipline, professionalism and dedication to national duty.

The Defence Forces Recruits Training School plays an important role in introducing new members of the military to the demands of service, including the discipline and commitment expected of personnel serving the nation.

Tuya’s visit also brought together senior military leadership, highlighting the role of collaboration between the Ministry of Defence and the Kenya Army in supporting the country’s defence training programmes.

The govt has continued to emphasise the importance of maintaining strong military institutions as part of its broader responsibility to safeguard national security and protect Kenya’s territorial integrity.
