Asiedu Nketiah Will Be The Next President Of Ghana – Pope Skinny Declares
According to a report by Ghana web on Monday October 19, 2026, Ghanaian musician Pope Skinny has sparked political conversations after declaring that the National Democratic Congress (NDC) National Chairman, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, will become the next President of Ghana.
The rapper’s statement has drawn attention to the growing discussions surrounding Asiedu Nketiah’s political future and the possibility of him seeking the country’s highest office in a future election.
Pope Skinny, who has publicly expressed admiration for the veteran politician, has indicated that he believes Asiedu Nketiah has the qualities needed to lead Ghana.
His declaration adds to the ongoing public debate about potential political successors and the direction of the NDC ahead of future electoral contests.
Asiedu Nketiah, popularly known as General Mosquito, is a prominent figure in Ghanaian politics with decades of experience within the NDC.
He has served in several leadership roles in the party and is widely recognised for his political communication and involvement in the party’s activities.
Pope Skinny’s remarks are particularly notable because of his own political affiliation with the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
His admiration for a leading figure in the NDC has previously attracted attention, especially when he discussed the possibility of changing political allegiance if Asiedu Nketiah decided to contest the presidency.
In an earlier interview on Okay FM with presenter Nana Romeo, the musician explained that he was impressed by Asiedu Nketiah’s intelligence, composure and ability to respond to questions during interviews.
“I’ve never been involved in any political campaign, but I am waiting for Asiedu Nketia,” Pope Skinny said.
He further stated: “If he declares his intention to become President, I will switch to the NDC without hesitation.”
The rapper also explained that he had begun learning from the NDC chairman, pointing to the politician’s responses during media engagements as evidence of his knowledge and understanding of political issues.
“I have already started learning from him. The way he responds to questions during interviews shows clearly that he is very knowledgeable,” he said.
Pope Skinny stressed that his admiration for Asiedu Nketiah was based on observing him rather than having a personal relationship with him.
“I’ve never met him in person, but I admire him greatly. He doesn’t speak unnecessarily, and when he does, his points are always solid and meaningful. Just wait and see, unless he chooses not to contest,” the musician added.
His comments have helped fuel discussions about whether Asiedu Nketiah could emerge as a presidential contender in the future.
However, Pope Skinny’s declaration represents his personal view and should not be taken as confirmation that the NDC chairman will contest or win a presidential election.
Asiedu Nketiah has not been confirmed as a presidential candidate merely by the musician’s prediction. Any potential bid would depend on his own decision and the party’s established processes for selecting a flagbearer.
Pope Skinny has also voiced dissatisfaction with developments within the NPP, particularly the internal disagreements and divisions he believes have affected the party.
Despite identifying with the opposition party, his comments suggest that his assessment of political leadership is not limited to his existing party allegiance.
The musician’s remarks have therefore added another dimension to conversations about Ghana’s political landscape, with attention likely to remain on Asiedu Nketiah’s future intentions and the responses his possible presidential ambitions may generate.
