Nkosi is facing charges including theft, fraud and defeating the ends of justice.
His case has come under the spotlight following damaging testimony at the Madlanga Commission, where allegations emerged that he acted as an intermediary between now-former Deputy National Police Commissioner Shadrack Sibiya and businessmen, including Vusimuzi “Cat” Matlala.
The suspended sergeant has emerged in Sibiya’s bail application, where he is facing rape and kidnapping charges.
This, after an audio recording was played in which corruption-tainted Congolese national Serge Cabonge, who’s been linked to systemic police corruption and illicit syndicates, alleged that dealings involving Sibiya and Matlala were conducted through Nkosi.
Nkosi, like Matlala and Sibiya, is also being held at the Kgosi Mampuru Correctional Services since his arrest after he was refused bail.
He was arrested after the Madlanga Commission’s interim report recommended disciplinary action and criminal investigations against Nkosi, Sibiya and two other officials.
