“Kasongo, You Are Not God, Your Time for Being Humbled Is Coming,” Sammy Kamau Says

Ol Kalou Member of Parliament Sammy Kamau has sent a strong message to President William Ruto, warning him that his time to be humbled will come as the country heads towards the 2027 General Election.

In remarks made on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, Kamau told the Head of State that he was not God, suggesting that his current position and authority would not shield him from political defeat.

“Kasongo, you are not God. Your time for being humbled is coming,” Kamau said.

Kamau was elected in the by-election held in Ol Kalou in July, which he won by a landslide. His political position aligns with former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua’s efforts to rally Mt Kenya voters against Ruto. Gachagua has been critical of the President and has mobilised leaders from the region to challenge his re-election bid.

The 2027 General Election is expected to test Ruto’s support across the country, including in Mt Kenya, a region that played a significant role in his victory in the 2022 presidential election.
