John Boyega welcomes first child with Heckard two years after secret wedding

John Boyega, the Nigerian-British actor, and Lashontae Heckard, his wife, have welcomed their first child together.

In a recent Instagram post, the 34-year-old actor shared loved-up photos of himself and his wife, with her baby bump visible, along with another image of him cradling the baby.

He said their baby had been born “some time ago,” thanking everyone who had sent them well wishes.

He also revealed that his sister was expecting a baby soon and asked people to wish her well.

“Our bundle of joy has been with us for some time now but thank you for all the well wishes. Also my sister is about to pop! Wish her well too. Back to feeding this big baby,” he wrote.

The actor, in a recent interview with The Guardian, revealed that he had been married to Heckard, who is reported to be 48 years, for almost two years.

Boyega said he and Heckard tied the knot in a “small ceremony” but added that they would love to have a traditional Nigerian wedding in the future.

“I would love to have a wedding celebration. We both like the idea of celebrating something established, rather than celebrating the entry. And by then, we’ll have to shut Nigeria down,” he said.

He also disclosed that he has a stepson, adding that his life is “completely, completely fulfilled in terms of family”.

Heckard is an actress and model who is best known for her appearances on the BET series ‘The Game,’ a show starring Tia Mowry and Hosea Chanchez which is about a group of women who all have relationships with professional football players.
