I Am In Full Agreement With Your Decision, Nigeria Needs More Attention Now- Tinubu
According to a report by Daily Post on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, President Bola Tinubu has suggested that he may not attend campaign rallies in every state ahead of the 2027 presidential election, indicating that governance could take priority over political activities.
Tinubu made this known on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, during the inauguration of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
The president’s remarks came as the ruling party began preparations for the forthcoming general election, with members of the campaign council expected to coordinate activities aimed at securing his re-election.
Tinubu acknowledged concerns raised by members of the campaign council over the possibility that an extensive campaign schedule could interfere with his responsibilities as Nigeria’s president.
According to him, the advice to concentrate on governance rather than allow campaign engagements to consume his time was reasonable, considering the country’s current needs.
“You’ve warned me not to allow the rigour of the campaign to distract me from governance, I hear you. I am in full agreement with your decision. Nigeria needs more attention now,” Tinubu said.
The president’s statement suggests that he could adopt a selective approach to campaign rallies across the country, potentially leaving some campaign engagements to other leaders and members of the APC Presidential Campaign Council.
