Super Eagles Star Victor Osimhen Names ‘The Best Team in the World’ as He Snubs Arsenal and Man City
According to a report by Metro on October 13, 2026, Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen has named Barcelona as the best team in the world, placing the Spanish giants ahead of Premier League champions Arsenal and Manchester City.
Osimhen made the declaration ahead of Galatasaray’s Champions League encounter with Barcelona, acknowledging the quality of Hansi Flick’s team and the challenge they will pose to the Turkish side.
Barcelona have enjoyed an impressive start to the 2026/27 campaign, winning all eight of their opening La Liga matches and scoring 34 goals. Their outstanding performances have established them as early favourites to maintain their position at the top of the Spanish league.
Flick’s men have also made a strong impression in Europe, beginning their Champions League campaign with a convincing 5-1 victory over Feyenoord. Their attacking strength and ability to dominate opponents have attracted attention across European football.
Ahead of Tuesday’s meeting, Osimhen acknowledged that facing Barcelona would represent a significant test for Galatasaray, who have also started their domestic campaign strongly and currently sit at the top of the Turkish Super Lig.
Speaking to Spanish outlet Sport, the Nigerian striker praised Barcelona’s history and current quality, describing them as the best team in the world at the moment.
Osimhen also explained that Galatasaray would need to approach the match with determination, discipline and tactical awareness if they hoped to compete against the Spanish champions.
He stressed the importance of pressing Barcelona in attacking areas and maintaining the right mentality throughout the encounter. Despite recognising the difficulty of the challenge, the striker expressed excitement about playing against such a talented side.
Osimhen also indicated that Galatasaray’s players were prepared for the occasion and would approach the match with confidence, regardless of the eventual result.
His comments come at a time when Arsenal have also received praise for their performances under Mikel Arteta. The Premier League side have established themselves among Europe’s leading clubs after winning the English league title last season and reaching the Champions League final.
Manchester City, meanwhile, remain another major force in European football, having consistently competed for domestic and continental honours under previous manager Pep Guardiola.
However, Osimhen’s assessment reflects his admiration for Barcelona’s current form and the quality available in Flick’s squad.
Barcelona strengthened their team further during the summer transfer window with the arrivals of Rodri from Manchester City and Anthony Gordon from Newcastle United. Those additions have increased the depth and quality available to Flick as his side pursue success across multiple competitions.
