GAL 1-4 BAR: Match Review And Updated UEFA Champions League Table
According to a report by BBC Sport on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, Barcelona recovered from a first-half deficit to defeat Galatasaray 4-1 in their UEFA Champions League league-phase encounter, with Lamine Yamal providing two assists to inspire the Spanish side to victory.
Hansi Flick’s team extended their winning streak to 10 matches across all competitions after producing an impressive second-half performance against the Turkish champions.
Barcelona started brightly despite the intimidating atmosphere at Galatasaray’s home ground. Dani Olmo was denied in a one-on-one situation by goalkeeper Ugurcan Cakir in the sixth minute before Anthony Gordon also saw his effort saved.
Olmo subsequently missed another opportunity with a diving header, while Joao Cancelo forced Cakir into another important save as Barcelona continued to threaten the hosts’ goal.
However, Galatasaray took the lead against the run of play in the 28th minute through Aleksey Batrakov. The midfielder collected Rafael Leao’s cutback before firing into the net, with his effort taking a deflection off Cancelo on its way past goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen.
The hosts almost doubled their advantage six minutes later when Baris Alper Yilmaz headed home from a corner, but the goal was disallowed following a VAR review for offside.
Barcelona eventually restored parity in the 43rd minute when Cancelo curled a fine effort into the far corner, registering his first Champions League goal since March 2024.
The visitors carried their momentum into the second half and took the lead four minutes after the restart. Yamal delivered an excellent cross into the penalty area, allowing Fermin Lopez to head home his fifth goal of the season. Barcelona increased their advantage in the 54th minute through Gordon, who converted another impressive delivery from Yamal.
The teenage winger produced excellent skill near the byline before squaring the ball for the forward to score his first Champions League goal for the club. The visitors continued to control proceedings as both managers introduced substitutes in an attempt to influence the contest.
Karim Adeyemi, introduced from the bench, completed the scoring in the 71st minute, finishing to make it 4-1 and secure Barcelona’s comeback victory. Adeyemi had further opportunities to increase the margin in the closing stages but was denied on two occasions.
The result maintained Barcelona’s perfect start to the Champions League campaign, while Galatasaray remained without a point after their opening two league-phase matches.
Barcelona will next travel to face defending champions Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday, October 20, while Galatasaray are scheduled to visit Lille on October 21.
