Wike: All The Candidates In PDP As Far As 2027 Election Is Concerned Are Going To Work For Tinubu
FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has triggered fresh political debate after announcing that candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) would work to secure victory for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the forthcoming general election.
Wike made the statement in a video shared by TVC News on Monday, October 12, 2026, openly expressing his position on the president’s political ambition despite his association with the PDP.
“All the candidates of PDP as far as this election is concerned are going to work for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” he said.
His remarks have raised concerns about the opposition party’s unity, internal loyalty and future political strategy. They have also prompted questions about whether PDP candidates will follow Wike’s position or pursue their own political interests.
Wike’s support for Tinubu has remained a subject of controversy because of his ministerial appointment under the APC-led administration and his continued influence within the PDP.
The latest declaration could intensify disagreements within the opposition party and fuel further discussions about possible alliances between PDP members and the president’s political camp.
Nevertheless, Wike’s statement alone does not establish that all PDP candidates have formally agreed to support Tinubu.
