Former CS Mithika Linturi Dismisses Claims He Is Ditching Rigathi Gachagua’s DCP For UDA

Former Agriculture Cabinet Secretary and Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP) National Organizing Secretary, Hon. Mithika Linturi, has dismissed reports that he is set to join the ruling United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party.

The rumours were sparked by a post from political commentator Alinur Mohamed who claimed Linturi was on his way to UDA, terming it a big blow to former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua.

“Blow to Riggy G as his DCP Party National Organizing Secretary and Former Agriculture CS Mithika Linturi is on his way to UDA Party. Rumours has it that an official announcement will happen very soon,” Alinur had posted.

However, in a quick rejoinder shared on his official Facebook page on Sunday, October 12, 2026, Linturi rubbished the claims, branding them as fake news and propaganda.

He stamped the screenshot of Alinur’s post with a bold red “FAKE” mark and told his critics to stop daydreaming.

“Alinur this country doesn’t have a shortage of daydreamers. Continue waiting. Our resolve to liberate this country is on autopilot. Nothing can change our trajectory. Not even your propaganda,” Linturi wrote.

Linturi, a key ally of Rigathi Gachagua, has been at the forefront of popularizing the newly formed DCP party, which is part of the opposition coalition seeking to unseat President William Ruto in the 2027 General Election.

His statement comes amid heightened political realignments and defections, with both UDA and opposition parties scrambling to consolidate support in the vote-rich Mount Kenya region.

Linturi reaffirmed his loyalty to Gachagua and the DCP, saying their mission to liberate the country remains unstoppable.
