Safaricom Announces New Job Vacancies in Nairobi, Lists Qualifications and Deadlines

Safaricom has announced four job vacancies targeting professionals in cybersecurity, monitoring and evaluation, data architecture, and enterprise solutions architecture, offering opportunities for qualified Kenyans seeking to advance their careers.

One of the vacancies is the Senior Officer, Cyber Secure by Design role, which requires a degree in information security, computer science, or a related technical field. Applicants must also have at least three years of experience in information systems security, networking, and web or mobile application technologies.

Professional certifications such as Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Security Manager (CISM), or Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP) are among the qualifications listed for the position. The advertised deadline is October 18, 2026, at 12:00 am.

Safaricom has also advertised a Specialist, Monitoring Evaluation Reporting and Learning position on a fixed term contract. Interested candidates require a bachelor’s degree in monitoring and evaluation, statistics, economics, data science, or a related field, alongside four to six years of relevant experience. The published deadline is October 13, 2026, at 12:00 am, making this the most urgent of the vacancies.

Another opportunity is the M Pesa Africa Senior Data Architect position, which targets professionals with a degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related specified field. Candidates are expected to have at least three years of experience in a senior or lead data architecture role, as well as strong knowledge of data modelling and cloud data platforms. The application deadline is October 19, 2026, at 11:55 pm.

The fourth vacancy is the Solutions and Business Architecture Area Chapter Lead position. The role requires at least eight years of experience in solutions, business, or enterprise architecture, including five years in a leadership capacity. A master’s degree and professional certifications such as TOGAF or CBAP are listed as highly desirable.
