Nakuru Locals Send Warning to Alcapone Club, Threaten to Storm Facility if Complaints Are Not Met

A new entertainment joint in Nakuru City is facing pressure from residents who have threatened to take action against the business unless its management addresses their concerns.

Alcapone Lounge, located in the Section 58 area, has become the centre of a dispute involving people living and working near the establishment.

The residents have issued an ultimatum to the management, warning that they could storm the premises if their demands are not met.

According to a video seen by this author, the residents want the management to take action to resolve a problem they say has affected their lives, particularly over the weekend.

The residents are demanding that Alcapone install soundproofing materials to prevent loud music from spreading beyond the club and disturbing people in the surrounding area.

They claim the noise is particularly troublesome from Friday to Sunday, when the entertainment joint is active. Some residents say they struggle to enjoy peace in their homes because of the music coming from the premises.

One resident said the noise sometimes makes it difficult for them to attend church services peacefully. The residents have also raised concerns about students attending nearby learning institutions, including Nakuru Boys High School and other schools in the area.

They argue that the learners sometimes don’t focus in learning and are found dancing to the club’s music. A nearby Level Four hospital has also been mentioned in the complaints. Residents are concerned about the possible effect of excessive noise on patients who need rest and a calm environment as they receive treatment.

The residents want the club to address the issue through proper soundproofing instead of allowing the problem to continue.

Alcapone Lounge opened in the Section 58 area following the closure of Platinum 7D Lounge, a long-standing entertainment venue that operated in Nakuru for 14 years before announcing its permanent closure in May 2026.

Kenya has regulations governing noise pollution. The Environmental Management and Coordination (Noise and Excessive Vibration Pollution) (Control) Regulations, 2009, prohibit loud or unreasonable noise that disturbs the comfort, health or safety of other people.

The National Environment Management Authority states that complaints about noise from nightclubs and similar establishments should be reported to the relevant county government, since noise control is a devolved function.
