Mchunu has urged Jacinta Ngobese-Zuma and Phakel’Umthakathi to put an end to their ongoing attacks

Ngizwe Mchunu has urged Jacinta Ngobese-Zuma and Phakel’umthakathi to put an end to their ongoing attacks against each other, warning that their conduct is unbecoming of people who are expected to demonstrate leadership and responsibility.

In his message, Mchunu expressed disappointment over the disagreement between the two personalities, saying that although he acknowledges his own imperfections, he believes both individuals have made mistakes that should not be associated with responsible leadership.

Jacinta, Phakela, I’m human too, and I make mistakes. But the two of you have made mistakes that are unbecoming of leaders,” Mchunu said, highlighting his concerns about the way the disagreement has unfolded.

His intervention appears to be a call for calm, accountability and maturity, as he encouraged the two to stop attacking one another and find a better way to handle their differences.

Mchunu also raised concerns about allegations surrounding the pair, including claims that they had received R3 million. He insisted that the accusations were untrue, expressing frustration over what he described as false claims being circulated about them.

According to his remarks, the allegations have contributed to the tensions surrounding the matter, making it more difficult for the individuals involved to move forward without further controversy.

He further argued that Phakel’umthakathi should not feel compelled to continue explaining himself to the public over the issue, maintaining that the parties involved do not owe everyone an explanation.

Mchunu comments suggest that he believes the situation has gone too far and that continuing to exchange accusations will only deepen the disagreement rather than resolve it.

His appeal comes amid the public attention surrounding Jacinta Ngobese-Zuma and Phakel’umthakathi, with their dispute becoming a subject of discussion.

For Mchunu, the central issue is not simply who is right or wrong, but how people in positions of influence conduct themselves when disagreements arise.

He appears to be encouraging both personalities to exercise restraint, avoid unnecessary public confrontations and focus on resolving their differences without further attacks.

Whether the two will heed his advice remains to be seen. However, his message is clear: leaders are also human and can make mistakes, but they must recognise when their actions risk damaging their credibility and public standing.
