Jack Doherty faces 6-month social media blackout: Here is why
Add ARY News on GoogleFollow on Google DiscoverInstagramAAResizeYouTuber Jack Doherty might face a six-month social media blackout as he had signed a contract without fully reviewing its terms.
The controversy emerged in late September, when Doherty revealed on X that the agreement could prevent him from posting online.
He admitted his mistake and noted, “Hey guys, I think I actually f***ed up.” He continued that he had signed the contract without carefully reading the conditions and initially believed the restriction was a joke.
He is now working with a lawyer to challenge the agreement, while Shuffle has indicated that it intends to enforce the deal.
The dispute reportedly began after Shuffle’s official X account posted an offer on September 28, stating, “at this point we will pay you to shut the f**k up.”

On October 7, Doherty discussed seeking sponsorship opportunities following disappointing performance from a Solana memecoin associated with him. He wrote that he needed to “get my money up somehow”, prompting Shuffle to describe its earlier offer as “legit”.
Shuffle co-founder Noah Dummett subsequently confirmed the agreement’s six-month term, writing, “For everyone asking, yes it’s real- 6-month term”, adding that it was “money well spent to get this mf off the internet”. He added that Doherty’s lawyers were seeking to have the contract cancelled but said the company would stand firm.
The reported restriction could extend into April 2027, depending on when the term began. However, the complete contract has not been made public, leaving its precise conditions unclear.
The story has prompted widespread online debate, with some users questioning whether the arrangement is genuine or a publicity stunt. Doherty’s return to social media remains uncertain as the legal dispute continues.
