Manchester City maintained their perfect start to the Premier League season with a 3-0 victory over Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday, extending their winning run to six matches and strengthening their position at the top of the standings.
City lead the table with 18 points, three ahead of second-placed Arsenal, who came from behind to beat Leeds United 2-1 on Saturday.
Brighton and Hove Albion occupy third place with 13 points after defeating Sunderland 2-0.
Erling Haaland, Jeremy Doku and Rayan Cherki scored in the second half to secure City’s win over Liverpool, who were reduced to 10 men after Ryan Gravenberch received a second yellow card.
The defeat leaves Liverpool ninth with nine points from six matches.
Arsenal also had to fight back after James Justin gave Leeds the lead. Riccardo Calafiori equalised before Bruno Guimarães scored the winner to keep the Gunners within touching distance of City.
Brighton moved into third after Marc De Cuyper and Jaouen Hadjam scored against Sunderland, who finished the match with 10 men following Pascal Struijk’s red card.
Chelsea recorded the weekend’s biggest victory, thrashing Bournemouth 5-1.
Jordan Henderson scored twice, while João Pedro also netted a brace and Morgan Rogers added another goal. Evanilson scored Bournemouth’s consolation.
Crystal Palace beat Nottingham Forest 3-1, while Hull City and Everton shared four goals in a 2-2 draw. Brentford also extended their unbeaten start, drawing 2-2 away to Aston Villa.
