Abductors stole my ksh 14.7M I had saved for 10years of working for Raila as bodyguard- Ogeta

Speaking in an interview with NTV, Ogeta said the money was inside his vehicle when he was abducted on his way to work during the anti-government protests . The funds included his personal savings accumulated over ten years and money belonging to the late opposition leader that he was on his way to hand over .

“I lost Sh14.7 million when I was abducted; it was in the car, and they took it. It took me 10 years back because those were my savings,” Ogeta said .

Ogeta disclosed that Raila Odinga cancelled a planned trip to London after learning of his abduction. The two had been scheduled to travel together the following day .

He also addressed accusations that he staged the abduction to steal the money, dismissing the claims as baseless. Ogeta noted that some of his critics had themselves gone into hiding during the same period out of fear .

Ogeta served as Raila Odinga’s bodyguard for nearly three decades and was present in India during the former Prime Minister’s final moments in October 2025 .
