Okaloosa County Chairman and District 4 Commissioner Trey Goodwin and Director of Public Safety Patrick Maddox took to social media to share these updates.
Evacuation orders for residents in Zones A and B were lifted at noon. This included Okaloosa Island and coastal areas in Niceville, Destin, and Fort Walton.
Residents can now go back home and assess damage. Visitors mentioned in the prior orders are also allowed to return.
"Residents and visitors should remain cautious while moving through neighborhoods to avoid downed power lines and existing debris," the county said.
According to a county spokesperson, there are over 500 hazard reports that involves electrical issues, downed trees and power lines, and non-operative traffic lights.
