‘Never seen a team like this’ – Anthony Gordon speaks out after scoring first Barcelona goal

According to a report by Barca Blaugranes on Sunday October 11, 2026, Barcelona winger Anthony Gordon has expressed his excitement after scoring his first goal for the club in their impressive 3-0 victory over Getafe in La Liga on Saturday.

The England international, who joined Barcelona from Newcastle United during the summer, was delighted to finally get off the mark and admitted that the goal would provide a significant boost to his confidence.

Speaking to DAZN after the match, Gordon said he could feel the support of the fans during the celebrations, while insisting that the team’s success remains his main priority.

He explained that he was not worried about failing to score in previous matches because he trusted that the goals would eventually come.

Gordon also praised Barcelona’s quality, describing his experience at the club as unlike anything he had seen before.

“I’ve never seen a team like this. What this club has achieved is historic, with the goals,” he said.

Despite Barcelona’s excellent start to the season, the winger warned his teammates against becoming complacent. He stressed that the team must continue scoring goals and defending well if they want to maintain their impressive form.

Barcelona now face a demanding run of fixtures, beginning with a Champions League trip to Turkey to face Galatasaray before returning to La Liga action against Real Betis.

For Gordon, the challenge will be to build on his first goal and continue delivering important performances as he settles into life at Barcelona.

His latest comments underline his confidence in the team’s quality, while his first goal could prove an important moment in his early Barcelona career.
