Carlos Baleba sends message to Man Utd fans after making his debut at Old Trafford

According to a report by Manchester Evening News on Sunday October 11, 2026, Carlos Baleba has sent a message to Manchester United supporters after making his eagerly anticipated debut in the 1-1 draw against Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford on Sunday.

The midfielder came off the bench in the 59th minute, making his first appearance for United following his reported £65 million summer move from Brighton.

Although Baleba could not help Michael Carrick’s side secure all three points, his introduction offered some encouragement during a disappointing afternoon for the hosts.

The 22-year-old took to Instagram after the match to express his feelings about making his debut and thank supporters for their warm welcome.

“Not the result we wanted, but making my debut is a dream come true. Thank you to all of the fans for the welcome. I am so happy to be here,” he wrote.

Baleba’s message reflected his excitement about beginning his Manchester United career despite the frustrating result against Tottenham.

His performance also attracted positive attention, with the midfielder showing composure on the ball, energy and an intention to drive the team forward during his time on the pitch.

United have struggled to find consistency in midfield, and Baleba’s arrival could provide Carrick with another option as he looks to improve the team’s performances.

The midfielder’s ability to contribute defensively while carrying the ball forward could prove valuable, although he will need time to settle into his new surroundings and build match fitness.

Attention will now turn to whether Baleba can earn a starting place in United’s upcoming fixtures, including their next league encounter against Leeds United.
