HUL 2-2 EVE: Match Review And Updated English Premier League Table

According to a report by BBC Sport on Sunday, October 11, 2026, Hull City came from behind to secure a 2-2 draw against Everton, with Mohamed Belloumi scoring the equaliser after the visitors had overturned an early second-half deficit.

Everton started brightly at Hull, forcing goalkeeper Konstantinos Tzolakis into action when he tipped James Garner’s dipping free-kick over the crossbar. The hosts looked to threaten on the counter-attack, with Joe Gelhardt breaking down the right before sending an effort straight at Jordan Pickford.

The visitors thought they had taken the lead shortly after the half-hour mark when Brennan Johnson turned the ball into an unguarded net following a scramble in the Hull penalty area. However, the goal was ruled out for offside after Harrison Armstrong’s initial effort had been blocked.

Hull grew into the contest before the interval and created opportunities to break the deadlock. Gelhardt saw a goal-bound attempt blocked by James Tarkowski, while Nobel Mendy missed another promising chance by heading over from close range.

The home side eventually took the lead five minutes after the restart. Sorba Thomas drove through the middle before playing a well-weighted pass behind Everton’s defence, allowing Gelhardt to lift the ball over the advancing Pickford.

Everton responded six minutes later when Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall arrived at the far post to head home Ainsley Maitland-Niles’ accurate delivery, bringing the visitors level.

The midfielder then helped Everton move ahead midway through the second half. Thomas lost possession with a loose pass, allowing Dewsbury-Hall to intervene. The ball broke into the path of Thierno Barry, who took advantage of the opportunity to fire the visitors into a 2-1 lead.

Hull refused to surrender and restored parity through Belloumi after exploiting weaknesses in Everton’s defence. Elliot Stroud cut the ball back into a dangerous position, allowing Belloumi to strike firmly towards goal.

Pickford could only parry the effort into the corner of the net as the hosts made it 2-2. Neither side found another goal before the final whistle, leaving both teams with a point from an entertaining encounter.

The result extended Everton’s unbeaten start to the Premier League season but continued their difficult away run, with the club now having gone eight league matches without an away victory. They have also won only two of their last 16 top-flight away games against promoted teams.
