Bayern Munich Step Aside to Allow Arsenal to Complete €150m Signing Ahead of January Transfer Window

According to a report by Football London on Sunday October 11, 2026, Arsenal have received a significant boost in their pursuit of Juventus winger Kenan Yildiz, with Bayern Munich reportedly unwilling to compete for the Turkish international if his potential transfer demands become excessive.

The Gunners explored several high-profile attacking options during the summer transfer window but failed to secure their preferred targets, leaving the club potentially ready to revisit their search in 2027.

Arsenal considered moves for Morgan Rogers, Yildiz and Vinicius Junior as they looked to strengthen their left-wing position. However, Rogers joined Chelsea, while Vinicius committed his future to Real Madrid by signing a new contract.

The north London club also explored a deal for Julian Alvarez, but the Argentine striker reportedly remained determined to pursue his ambition of joining Barcelona instead.

Yildiz could now emerge as a leading target again, particularly after Arsenal’s interest in the 21-year-old attracted considerable attention during the previous transfer window.

Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio has suggested the Juventus forward could be involved in a major transfer next year, revealing that several clubs submitted significant proposals and enquiries during the summer.

He said: “I think a possible surprise in the next transfer windows could be linked to Yildiz’s future, for whom proposals and requests for information had already arrived last summer.”

Di Marzio also indicated that Juventus would demand a substantial fee before considering a sale, with the asking price potentially reaching €150 million.

However, Arsenal could benefit from Bayern Munich’s apparent reluctance to enter the race, according to Christian Falk, a respected journalist covering the German champions.

Yildiz spent a decade in Bayern’s youth system between 2012 and 2022 before leaving the club. His subsequent development has reportedly left officials in Munich regretting their decision to let him depart.

Nevertheless, Bayern are understood to recognise that bringing him back would require an enormous financial commitment, making a reunion increasingly unlikely.

Falk explained that Yildiz remains on the radar of several major European clubs, but Bayern would struggle to justify spending a huge amount to correct their previous decision.

The journalist said: “He’s a big talent and I think that Bayern Munich made a mistake in allowing the player to leave on a free transfer. But now, it’s too late for FC Bayern.”

He added that Bayern would withdraw from negotiations if competing clubs, including Real Madrid, were prepared to pay the substantial transfer fee Juventus could demand.

Although Arsenal would still face considerable financial obstacles, Bayern’s position could leave the Premier League side with a clearer opportunity to pursue the talented winger.

However, Juventus remain firmly in control of the situation, and any potential deal would depend on Arsenal’s willingness to meet the Italian club’s valuation and Yildiz’s own preferences regarding his next career move.
