Final EPL Table After Arsenal’s Comeback Win Against Leeds United
According to a report by BBC Sport on Saturday, October 10, 2026, Arsenal strengthened their position in the English Premier League title race after producing an impressive second-half comeback to defeat Leeds United 2-1 at the Emirates Stadium, with the result bringing them level on points with league leaders Manchester City.
The encounter initially appeared to be heading in Leeds United’s favour after James Justin opened the scoring in the 55th minute. However, Arsenal responded through Riccardo Calafiori, who restored parity in the 62nd minute before Bruno Guimarães completed the turnaround with a brilliant winning goal in the 70th minute.
The victory was particularly important for Mikel Arteta’s side following their disappointing defeat against Brighton before the international break. Arsenal demonstrated resilience to secure maximum points and maintain pressure on Manchester City at the top of the standings.
Following Saturday’s results, Manchester City remain first in the Premier League table with 15 points from five matches. Arsenal occupy second position with 15 points from six games, trailing City on goal difference.
Brighton and Hove Albion sit third with 13 points after recording an impressive 2-0 away victory against Sunderland. The result continued Brighton’s excellent start to the campaign and strengthened their position among the leading clubs.
Brentford occupy fourth position with 10 points following their entertaining 2-2 draw against Aston Villa. Chelsea are fifth with 10 points after producing an outstanding attacking display to defeat Bournemouth 5-1 at Stamford Bridge.
Leeds United remain sixth with nine points despite suffering their first league defeat of the campaign against Arsenal. Liverpool occupy seventh position with nine points, while Everton sit eighth with the same number of points.
Ipswich Town are ninth with nine points after securing a dramatic 2-1 comeback victory against Fulham. Hull City complete the top ten with eight points, while Newcastle United occupy eleventh position, also with eight points.
Manchester United remain twelfth in the standings with six points after being held to a 1-1 draw by Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford.
Bryan Mbeumo gave Michael Carrick’s side the advantage in the second half, but Dominic Solanke scored a stoppage-time equaliser to rescue a point for Tottenham despite the visitors finishing with ten players.
Nottingham Forest occupy thirteenth position with five points, while Aston Villa are fourteenth with the same tally. Crystal Palace sit fifteenth with four points, followed by Sunderland in sixteenth position.
Bournemouth occupy seventeenth position with three points after their heavy defeat against Chelsea, while Tottenham Hotspur remain eighteenth with three points following their draw against Manchester United.
Coventry City sit nineteenth with three points, while Fulham remain at the bottom of the Premier League table with two points after their defeat against Ipswich Town.
Arsenal’s comeback victory has increased the pressure on Manchester City ahead of their important encounter against Liverpool on Sunday.
Although the Gunners remain second, their ability to recover from a difficult situation against Leeds United could prove valuable as the title race develops.
With several clubs competing closely at both ends of the standings, the remaining fixtures could produce further changes to the Premier League table.
