2027 Election: Tompolo Urges North To Support Tinubu

Niger Delta leader Oweizide Ekpemupolo, also known as Tompolo, has called on voters in Bauchi State and other parts of Northern Nigeria to support President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.

Tompolo argued that it would pave the way for the region to produce the president in 2031.

He warned that the North might have to wait until 2035 to produce a president if a southern opposition candidate defeats Tinubu in the 2027 election, on the grounds that the successor could seek a second term.

He made the remarks on Saturday through Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited Managing Director, High Chief Kestin Ebimorbowei Pondi, at the inauguration of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement in Bauchi State.

At the event, the delegation donated 32 campaign vehicles to support the All Progressives Congress (APC) mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Tompolo’s appeal was based on the argument that Tinubu’s re-election would enable the North to pursue the presidency after the completion of the president’s second term.

“Let’s not allow any opposition to deceive us. Nobody from the South will come to power and stay for four years. If you give the South power, it will delay your time. It is going to take another eight years,” Tompolo said.

He added, “Let’s vote for Tinubu, who has exhausted four years and has only four years to go, so that by 2031, when you choose a candidate in the North, those of us from the South can stand by you and support your candidate.”

Tompolo also urged Bauchi residents to support Tinubu, citing road construction, healthcare, education and other infrastructure projects as evidence of the president’s commitment to the state.

“The only way to go is Bola Ahmed Tinubu. If we want a progressive Nigeria, we must vote for Bola Ahmed Tinubu. If we want peace, we must vote for Bola Ahmed Tinubu. If we want progress, we must vote for Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” he said.

Also speaking, Bauchi APC governorship candidate Mohammed Abubakar thanked Tompolo for donating the vehicles, describing the gesture as a demonstration of solidarity between the South-South and the Bauchi APC.

Abubakar urged residents to reciprocate the gesture by voting for Tinubu and other APC candidates in the 2027 elections.
