Bibb coroner: Watts Road shooting leaves woman dead, husband hospitalized

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A 61-year-old woman is dead and a 65-year-old man is in stable condition after a shooting Sunday at a home on Watts Road.

According to a Bibb County Sheriff’s Office news release, the shooting was reported to the Macon-Bibb Emergency 911 Center shortly before noon at a home in the 2800 block of Watts Road in east Macon.

Deputies found the man and woman with gunshot wounds. Paramedics treated both victims before taking the man to a local hospital.

Bibb County Coroner Leon Jones told 41NBC that the woman shot her husband and then herself. The sheriff’s office has only described the case as an active death investigation.

Neither of the man or woman’s names have been ’ names haes of the man or woman.
