US President Donald Trump said on October 9 that Russia will release 300,000 tonnes of diesel “immediately” to the US and global markets, followed by 500,000 tonnes in November and 1mn tonnes after that, after a phone call with Russian President Vladimir Putin.Trump added on Truth Social that Russia would then deliver a further 3mn tonnes “within a short period of time”, depending on the condition of its refineries, which Ukrainian drones have been hitting for months.
