The Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, has donated a car and 10 motorcycles to a support group in Zamfara State as part of his political empowerment programme.

The vehicles were presented to the group, led by Alhaji Salisu Dawa, on behalf of the minister by the Chairman of his political movement in Zamfara, Builder Ibrahim Isa Mayana.

According to a statement issued by the Publicity Secretary of the Matawalle Political Standing Committee, Yusuf Idris Gusau, the donation was intended to ease the transportation challenges of members and support their political activities across the state.

Matawalle said the gesture was in appreciation of the group’s loyalty to his political movement and the All Progressives Congress (APC).

He expressed confidence that the beneficiaries would use the vehicles judiciously to support themselves, their families and the party.

The minister also commended members of the group for their commitment to campaigning for the APC within and outside Zamfara State.

He said the donation was part of his ongoing support for his followers, adding that it would not be the last.

Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, Dawa thanked the minister, saying the vehicles would improve the group’s ability to reach communities across the state.

He explained that members had previously relied on alternative means of transportation to attend to political activities but would now be better positioned to coordinate their engagements.

The presentation was attended by members of the Matawalle Political Standing Committee and other political stakeholders.
