You are My Junior at the Bar; Meet Me in Court and I Will Show You Who I Am- Atta Kyea To Dr. Ayine
Lawyer Samuel Atta Akyea has called on Attorney General Dr. Dominic Ayine to settle their disagreement through the courts rather than public statements concerning the fraud allegations against former National Signals Bureau (NSB) Director Kwabena Adu Boahene.
Speaking in a recent interview, Atta Akyea expressed concern about the Attorney General’s public comments on the pending case.
He argued that discussing the matter outside the courtroom could shape public perceptions before the legal proceedings are concluded.
He also claimed that Dr. Ayine was under political pressure to pursue cases against members of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), suggesting that such pressure could threaten the impartiality of the process. Atta Akyea maintained that the appropriate way to resolve the dispute was through legal proceedings.
The controversy centres on statements connecting Adu Boahene’s detention with an alleged fraud case involving a cybersecurity contract. Atta Akyea argued that the remarks were unjustified and could damage his client’s reputation.
He further expressed concern about the reputational consequences for Adu Boahene and his wife, Angela Adjei-Boateng, should they ultimately be cleared of the allegations.
Atta Akyea stressed that the courtroom, rather than the media, should be the forum for examining evidence and determining the merits of the case. He urged all parties to respect due process and allow the judiciary to handle the matter without external interference.
