UK High Commissioner praises Stonebwoy for BHIM Festival London success

Ghanaian dancehall star Stonebwoy has received praise from the UK High Commission following the successful debut of his BHIM Festival London, which drew 12,500 people to the OVO Arena Wembley.

Stonebwoy paid a courtesy visit to the UK High Commission, where he met with the UK’s High Commissioner to Ghana, Dr Christian Rogg, to discuss the festival and his continued efforts to promote Ghanaian music and culture internationally.

Reflecting on the engagement, Stonebwoy said the meeting focused on the success of BHIM Festival London and his role as a cultural torchbearer for Ghanaian music and culture on the global stage.

Dr Rogg also highlighted the festival’s turnout and Stonebwoy’s broader contribution to cultural exchange and youth development.

“Great to catch up with Stonebwoy on upcoming projects and his recent BHIM festival success in London – 12,500 people at the OVO Arena,” Dr Rogg said.

He further praised the artiste’s commitment to education and youth development, as well as his approach to music, particularly his ability to blend several languages and musical influences.

“I really admire the commitment to education and youth development. And the clever blend of Jamaican Patois, English, Ewe, Ga and Twi lyrics,” he added.

The engagement comes after the first BHIM Festival London, which marked another step in Stonebwoy’s efforts to take his festival brand and Ghanaian musical identity to international audiences.

The artiste has increasingly positioned himself beyond music performances, using his platform to promote Ghanaian culture while engaging with issues around education and youth development.
