No President, From Obasanjo, To Our Own Goodluck, None Of Them Could Remove Fuel Subsidy — Okpebholo

Governor of Edo State, Monday Okpebholo, has asserted that no president, from Olusegun Obasanjo to Goodluck Jonathan, could remove fuel subsidy except for President Bola Tinubu.

Speaking in a video posted by Channels Television while addressing residents, Okpebholo said the president is a man of courage, noting that for many years Nigeria has been battling to remove the fuel subsidy, and no president dared to say it because removal of the fuel subsidy can even remove a president from office.

He said within a twinkle of an eye, Tinubu summoned courage to say it is better for him to deliver this country and reform the economy of this country, and he removed fuel subsidy, which is why there is boost on economy of Nigeria today and the reform of the president is succeeding.

He said the common man should be allowed to enjoy this money coming from the fuel subsidy removal, noting that already there are many holes that have been created, and those holes now are what Tinubu is filling.

Okpebholo said by the time Tinubu cements all those holes, Nigeria will bounce back and be strong like America and England, stressing that the only man that has courage to do it is President Tinubu.

He said on the 16th of January they will go to the poll again to elect President Tinubu by voting for him, reminding the residents of his promise of 2.5 million votes for the president in 2027. He said as they are voting for Tinubu, they should also vote for Oshiomhole and Anamero.

In his statement, “Mr. President is a man of courage. For many years, Nigeria has been battling (0:08) to remove fuel subsidy. And no president, right from Obasanjo to our own Goodluck, none of them could remove the fuel subsidy. Nobody.”

“You dare not say it because the removal of fuel subsidy can even remove a president from the office. But within a twinkle of an eye, few minutes, few seconds, this president summoned courage to say it is better for me to deliver this country, to reform this economy of this country.”

“He removed that fuel subsidy. That is why you have seen the boost in the economy of Nigeria today.”
