The teenage sensation of Congolese heritage has been handed his first official deal by the English heavyweights following his magnificent form with their Youth Team ranks so far
London-born DR Congo teen Jayden Malundama has signed his first professional contract with Premier League titan Chelsea FC, the club have confirmed.
The 17-year-old budding midfielder, who joined up with The Blues academy at age 8, has so far made an excellent progress through the academy system to the Chelsea U18 setup at Cobham.
Given his scintillating talent, those in charge of administrative affairs at Stamford Bridge, have now tied their prized asset to a long-term contract by securing his future beyond 2028.
A statement over the first PRO contract of the DR Congo prospect midfielder read: ”Chelsea Football Club is pleased to confirm that Academy midfielder Jayden Malundama has signed his first professional contract with the Blues.
”Malundama joined Chelsea as an Under-8 and has progressed through the youth ranks at Cobham. The defensive midfielder is a confident dribbler who uses his close control to progress play.
”Last season, as a schoolboy, Malundama featured in the Under-17 Premier League Cup and marked the occasion with a goal against Charlton Athletic.
”He has signed the professional deal following his 17th birthday, having signed a scholarship contract back in July 2026.
Given his promising potential as an upcoming youth star, the London-born native could become a sure bet in midfield for DR Congo national team at the international level should the Fédération Congolaise de Football Association (FECOFA) strive hard to secure his international allegiances in the near future.
