From the Newsroom to the Courtroom — Serwaa Amihere Celebrates Friend’s Call to the Bar

Media personality Serwaa Amihere has joined the growing chorus of congratulations for Ghana’s newest lawyers, taking to Instagram to celebrate a close friend who was recently called to the Bar. Her post, which carried the catchy caption “From the Newsroom to the Courtroom,” captures the excitement of watching someone transition from a career in journalism into the legal profession.

The GHOne TV presenter’s celebration comes amid a wave of Bar call ceremonies that have seen several media professionals and public figures formally admitted to the Ghanaian legal profession. Serwaa Amihere’s post adds a personal and heartfelt touch to the moment, highlighting the friendships and support networks that sustain people through the demanding journey of legal education.

Her caption neatly captures the significance of the milestone, especially for those who already have established careers in media. Moving from reporting and broadcasting into law requires years of study, rigorous examinations and significant personal sacrifice, making the achievement all the more impressive for those who manage to balance both worlds.

The post has drawn reactions from followers who congratulated the new lawyer and praised Serwaa Amihere for celebrating her friend’s success so warmly. It also reflects a broader trend in Ghanaian social media, where Bar call ceremonies have become major talking points, with journalists, influencers and public figures sharing in the joy of colleagues who have crossed into the legal fraternity.

As more professionals make the leap from the newsroom to the courtroom, the crossover between media and law continues to grow, bringing valuable skills in communication, research and public engagement into the legal profession. For Serwaa Amihere and her friend, the celebration is both a personal milestone and a reminder of what dedication and hard work can achieve.
