Gift Tycoon Chivayo Was Spotted Giving His Children And 13 Friends Before He Died

Zimbabwean businessman Wicknell Chivayo made one of his final gifts to his children and their friends shortly before he died in a helicopter crash.

Chivayo, popularly known as Sir Wicknell, bought brand new iPhone 18 Pro Max phones for his children and 13 of their friends. He shared the news on his Instagram Stories on September 30, 2026, shortly before the helicopter crash.

In his post, Chivayo congratulated the children and revealed that he had bought them the latest iPhone models.

The gift was one of the last public acts of generosity linked to the businessman.

Chivayo was known for spending large amounts of money on family members, friends, religious leaders, musicians and people who needed help.

Over the years, reports estimated that he had given away about US $60 million through cash, cars, houses and other forms of support.

The 45-year-old businessman died alongside his wife, Lucy Muteke, and four other people after their helicopter crashed in Marondera.

Before his death, Chivayo had also made several expensive gifts to people close to him.He gave his uncle, Herbert Kudakwashe Chivayo, US $63,000 in cash and a Toyota Fortuner. The gift was meant to thank his uncle for taking care of him after his father died.

He also gave large gifts to his lawyers. Advocate Wilson Tatenda Manase received a 2026 Lexus GX 550 and US $250,000, while Advocate Sylvester Hashiti received a 2026 Range Rover Sport Autobiography and US $500,000.

Chivayo also supported musicians, churches and sports teams. Musician Jah Prayzah received vehicles worth more than US $1.4 million, while several other artists received cars and cash.

His support was not limited to Zimbabwe. He pledged US $1 million to the Beautify Malawi Trust and also helped people who needed medical treatment outside the country.

His final social media activity included a message appreciating people he had known for many years.

The iPhone gifts to his children and their 13 friends were therefore among the last gifts he publicly shared before his death.
