Four young people sit by a roadside drinking alcohol and smoking hookah during the day

Four young people have been pictured sitting beside a roadside during the day with an open vehicle boot, drinking alcohol and smoking from a hookah pipe, prompting criticism about what some see as young people spending their time on while politicians and criminals are accused of taking advantage of the country. The photograph shows the group gathered casually outdoors, with one person using a phone while the others drink and smoke, and the post uses the scene to argue that this is what some young people have come to spend their time doing.

One thing the post leaves open is whether the people pictured are actually young or whether the post has assumed their ages from their appearance. The post also does not say where the roadside is or what they were celebrating. Those details matter because they would establish whether the criticism about youth behaviour applies. Without them, the image shows only the scene and the assumptions made about it.

Reactions were mixed, with some people challenging the criticism by asking what the person behind the post was doing to address politicians and criminals. Others questioned whether everyone pictured could actually be described as youth and used the discussion to express wider frustration with the political situation. Some defended the group, saying drinking outdoors is not a crime.

What has not been settled is whether the people pictured have responded to the criticism or whether anyone reported them for drinking in public. The image itself does not establish the ages of those pictured or why they were gathered there, so the criticism about their behaviour remains an interpretation of the scene.
