Ama K. Abebrese Urges Support For Strika

Actress Ama K. Abebrese has called for prayers and support for fellow actor Emmanuel Quaye, popularly known as Strika, following recent public criticism over his current situation.

Strika, who gained recognition after starring in the internationally acclaimed film, ‘Beasts of No Nation’, has recently been the subject of public discussion following reports that he was arrested for allegedly removing metal railings from the Kwashieman footbridge to sell as scrap.

Ama K. Abebrese, who also featured in the film, said she would not comment on the details of the reported case because it appeared to be a criminal matter.

Instead, she appealed to the public to stop comparing Strika’s life and career with that of fellow actor Abraham Attah, who also rose to fame through Beasts of No Nation.

She said such comparisons were unfair because people did not know the personal circumstances and challenges Strika had faced over the years.

“People out there will just think, oh, he just squandered that opportunity. And also so many people comparing him to Abraham Attah, whose situation is also very different. You know, there’s a saying that all fingers are not equal,” Ama said.

She described Strika as a talented young actor and said his current struggles should be viewed as part of his journey.

“Emmanuel [Strika] is an amazing young talent,” she added.

Ama also revealed that several individuals had attempted to support Strika over the years, although some of those efforts had not achieved the expected results.

“I do know he needs support, I will try and support him, and I know other people have tried. I do think he needs prayers. But please, try not to compare him to anybody else,” she urged.
