The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has held a one-day training programme to help Ghana Premier League clubs use its Competitions Management Systems (CMS) before the 2026/27 campaign begins.
The virtual session took place on Monday, 31 August 2026, bringing together representatives from Premier League clubs for guidance on the Club Management System (CMS). The programme formed part of the GFA’s preparations for the new football season and was designed to improve clubs’ understanding of the platform and how it should be used in daily competition administration.
The training was led by Francis Essah Adu, the GFA’s Director of IT and Deputy General Secretary, alongside Maxwell Caesar Kemeh, the Acting Director of Competitions.
Club representatives were introduced to the structure, functions and operating model of the Club Management System. The discussions covered the platform’s main features and the processes intended to support the administration and management of football competitions.
The CMS is a modern digital platform used internationally to simplify the organisation of leagues, matches and other football competitions. It brings together a range of competition-related activities within one integrated system, with the aim of making administrative work more efficient, accurate and accessible.
For the Ghana Premier League and other domestic competitions, the system is expected to improve communication between the relevant stakeholders while strengthening the way competition records are maintained. It should also help streamline several administrative procedures connected with running the country’s football competitions.
The training comes as clubs complete their preparations for the start of the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League season. The new campaign is scheduled to run from 4 September to 7 September 2026 for its opening fixtures, with clubs making final arrangements ahead of the season.
The GFA’s training initiative is therefore intended to ensure that participating clubs are familiar with the digital tools and processes required before competitive action begins. Representatives were taken through the system’s operation so that the platform can support the smooth running of matches and league administration throughout the campaign.
The use of a centralised competition management platform is expected to provide clubs and organisers with a clearer and more consistent way to handle key information and administrative responsibilities. The system will be used in support of the Ghana Premier League as well as other domestic competitions managed by the Football Association.
The virtual programme was organised by the Football Association as part of its wider preparations for the 2026/27 football season.
