Semper Fi and Ebusua Dwarfs will battle for the X1 DOL Super Cup trophy when they meet in the grand final at the Obuasi Len Clay Stadium on Tuesday at 3:00 p.m.
Semper Fi have been impressive throughout the competition, qualifying from Group B as group winners without conceding a goal. They began their campaign with a goalless draw against Tamale City, followed by another 0-0 draw against AshantiGold, before securing a 1-0 victory over Nsuopon Fidelity to finish top of the group with five points.
In the semi-final, Semper Fi edged past Attram De Visser 1-0, with Emmanuel Adjei Laryea converting from the penalty spot in the 90th minute to book their place in the final.
Ebusua Dwarfs, meanwhile, topped Group A unbeaten with seven points, scoring six goals in the group stage, and secured their place in the final after defeating Nsuopon Fidelity 3-2 on penalties following a goalless draw in regulation time.
Interestingly, both finalists finished second in their respective zones in the just-ended Division One League season. Semper Fi finished second in Zone Three, while Ebusua Dwarfs occupied second place in Zone Two.
The final will be a historic occasion for both clubs, as Semper Fi and Ebusua Dwarfs are appearing in the X1 DOL Super Cup final for the first time.
