Dr Okoe Boye wins NPP Greater Accra chairmanship race

Former Minister of Health, Dr Bernard Okoe Boye, has won the New Patriotic Party (NPP) chairmanship race for the Greater Accra Region.

Dr Okoe Boye, who is also a former Member of Parliament (MP) for Ledzokuku, beat his only contender in the race, Alfred Boye, to win the chairmanship position.

Okoe Boye polled 490 votes to beat Alfred Boye, who obtained 172 votes.

In the other races for executive positions for the NPP in the Greater Accra Region, Joana Frances Ada won the first vice chairman position with 405 votes, defeating Raheal Tutu, who secured 243 votes, and Emmanuel King Affotey, who received 12 votes.

Moses Abor emerged as regional organiser with 465 votes. Emmanuel Anim Austin polled 163 votes, while Collins Kofi Asante obtained 32 votes.

Daniel Parker was elected regional secretary after polling 350 votes, narrowly beating Emmanuel Clottey, who secured 314 votes.

Gideon Ampim Sakyi won the deputy secretary position with 209 votes, edging Baba Seidu Issaka, who obtained 207 votes. Albert Nii Kraku received 35 votes.

Naomi Akosua Owusu was elected regional women’s organiser with 227 votes, one vote ahead of Perpetual Asante, who polled 226 votes.

Benjamin Nargeh won the youth organiser position with 296 votes, followed by Mandela Wiafe Edward with 259 votes and Kwame Bekwei with 102 votes.

Michael Danquah secured the treasurer position with 265 votes. Francesca Ayorkor polled 222 votes, Kofi Twum Boafo received 155 votes, and David Laryea obtained 17 votes.

Solomon Asante was elected communications officer, while Prince Obeng was listed as the winner of the second vice chairman position in the results provided.
